Community Visual Arts Project

Update: January 31, 2013

Courses will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 PM on the following evenings:

Mondays - Mixed media with Nathalie Boissonnault
Wednesdays - Fine metalwork with Ruben Komangapik
Thursdays - Painting with Yves Gonthier

The cost is $100 per 12 week course which includes materials.

The Gaspesian British Heritage Village launch a community visual arts project in January 2013.

Three renowned artists, Nathalie Boissonnault, Yves Gonthier and Ruben Komangapik, will take
part in the program. Each artist will teach a 12 week course aimed at community members from
different generations and cultures.

To encourage collaboration between the diverse groups, participants will express what they have
learned about each other through the creation of a piece of 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional art.

The finished artwork will be displayed at the Gaspesian British Heritage Village throughout the
summer, as well as featured in a publication with photographs taken by Estelle Marcoux
Komangapik.

The project is funded by Canadian Heritage, CRÉGÎM and the Town of New Richmond.
